Terms of Service

1. Definitions

  • Duivendates: the matchmaking service offered by Tortelen.
  • User: any person who creates an account with Duivendates.
  • Service: the full set of matchmaking, date planning and related features.
  • Match: a pairing between two users selected by our team.

2. Applicability

These terms apply to all use of Duivendates. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

3. Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile information.
  • Your account is personal and may not be shared with others.
  • You can delete your account at any time via the app or by contacting our team.

4. Service

Duivendates offers:

  • Personal matchmaking by our team of matchmakers.
  • Organisation and planning of dates (venue, time, reservation).
  • Communication around your match and date.

We do our best to find suitable matches, but cannot guarantee the outcome of a match or date.

5. Payment

  • Signing up and getting matched is free.
  • You pay a one-time contribution for planning a date.
  • The exact cost is shown before you agree.
  • Payments are processed via Mollie.
  • Refunds are possible if a date does not take place due to circumstances beyond your control.

6. Code of conduct

We expect all users to:

  • Behave respectfully and honestly towards matches and our team.
  • Not provide misleading profile information or photos.
  • Not engage in inappropriate, offensive or intimidating behaviour.
  • Communicate promptly about changes in availability.

If these rules are violated, we reserve the right to suspend or delete your account.

7. Liability

Duivendates is not liable for the outcome of matches or dates. We facilitate the meeting, but the interaction between users is their own responsibility. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the relevant service.

8. Privacy

We process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy. By using Duivendates you agree to this processing.

9. Changes

We may amend these terms from time to time. For significant changes, we will inform you by email. Continued use after a change means you agree to the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
