1. Definitions
A few words that come up throughout these terms:
- Duivendates: the personal matchmaking service by Tortelen.
- User: anyone who creates a Duivendates account. Throughout this text we simply address you as "you".
- Service: everything Duivendates does, from matchmaking and date planning to the messages around it.
- Match: a pairing between two users that our team chooses by hand.
- Matchmakers: the people on our team who read profiles and make the matches.
2. Applicability
These terms apply to any use of Duivendates. The moment you create an account, you agree to them. So read them through. We have tried to keep them short and readable.
3. Account
To use Duivendates, we ask a few things of you:
- You are 18 or older.
- The information in your profile is accurate and your own.
- Your account is personal. You do not share it with anyone else.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by sending our team a message.
4. The service
What you can expect from us:
- Personal matchmaking by our team. Human work, not an algorithm.
- Arranging the date itself: venue, time and reservation.
- The messages around your match and your date.
We do our best to find a good match for you. What happens between two people after that, we cannot promise or guarantee. That is just part of it.
5. Payment
Signing up and getting matched is free. You only pay once a date is arranged.
- Signing up and matching is free.
- For planning a date you pay a one-time contribution.
- You see the exact amount before you agree.
- Payments run through our payment provider Mollie.
- If a date falls through for reasons beyond your control, you can get your contribution back.
6. House rules
Duivendates only works if everyone treats it with care. So we ask you to:
- treat your match and our team with respect and honesty;
- keep your profile and photos real and accurate;
- avoid inappropriate, hurtful or intimidating behaviour;
- let us know in time if your availability changes.
If someone does not stick to this, we may pause or remove the account.
7. Liability
We bring two people together, but we are not responsible for how a match or date goes. That is up to the people themselves. Where we are liable, it is limited to the amount you paid for that service.
We do everything we can to keep it safe. Everyone verifies with iDIN, so you know you are dealing with a real person. And your date takes place at a venue where people know you are on a date.
8. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy. By using Duivendates, you agree to that processing.
9. Changes
Now and then we update these terms. If something important changes, we will let you know by email. If you keep using Duivendates afterwards, you agree to the new version.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If we cannot work something out together, a dispute is brought before the competent court in the Netherlands.
